Dosewell ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our medication reminder application ("App").

Information You Provide

• Account Information: Email address and password for account creation and authentication
• Encrypted Health Data: Medication names, dosages, schedules, and related notes — all of which are encrypted on your device before transmission using end-to-end encryption

Information Collected Automatically

• Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for troubleshooting and compatibility
• Usage Analytics: Anonymous, aggregated data about app usage patterns (not tied to your health data)

How We Protect Your Data

End-to-End Encryption

All medication and health-related data you enter into Dosewell is encrypted on your device using industry-standard encryption before being transmitted or stored. This means:

• We cannot read your medication data — it is encrypted with keys that only you control
• We cannot decrypt your data — even if compelled by law, we do not possess the technical ability to access your unencrypted health information
• We cannot share your medication data with third parties — because we never have access to it

Data Storage

Encrypted data is stored on secure servers. However, because this data is encrypted before it reaches our servers, the stored information is meaningless without your personal encryption keys, which remain solely on your device.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect or have access to unencrypted medication names
• We do not collect or have access to unencrypted dosage information
• We do not collect or have access to unencrypted health conditions
• We do not sell any user data to third parties
• We do not share any data with advertisers

How We Use Information

We use the limited information available to us to:

• Provide and maintain the App
• Authenticate your account
• Send you medication reminders (notification timing only — we cannot see what the reminder is for)
• Improve app performance and fix bugs
• Communicate with you about updates or issues

Data Retention

• Encrypted health data: Retained until you delete it or delete your account
• Account information: Retained until you delete your account
• Upon account deletion: All associated data, including encrypted health data, is permanently deleted within 30 days

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you (note: encrypted health data will be provided in encrypted form, as we cannot decrypt it)
• Delete: Delete your account and all associated data at any time through the App
• Export: Export your data from the App
• Withdraw: Stop using the App at any time

Children's Privacy

Dosewell is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase: For secure authentication and encrypted data storage
• Apple Push Notification Service / Firebase Cloud Messaging: For delivering reminders

These services have their own privacy policies and data handling practices.

HIPAA Disclaimer

Dosewell is designed as a personal medication reminder tool. Because all health data is end-to-end encrypted and we never have access to your unencrypted health information, Dosewell operates as a personal health tool rather than a covered entity under HIPAA. We do not access, process, or store unencrypted protected health information (PHI).

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
